I thought it would be nice for parents to have a newsletter dedicated to storytimes. We have a library newsletter that has all programming information. But I wanted to provide parents with upcoming themes, songs they could learn and the new schedule.

October 2023 Take and Make

Image
Take and make are projects for the children and their families to take home and do. This was started when COVID limited the programs that we did at the library. I chose to continue the Make & Take packs. These packets stay out all week. Children do not need to attend a storytime to have a packet. We did get a grant of book to give away so I thought this would be one of the best ways to get the books into the children's homes. I also try to have the packets fit with the themes we are doing in storytime. The leaves on this tree are torn up bits of paper. Rocks were painted and ready for the children to glue eyes, yarn, and pipe cleaners. They chose their colored rock and then got a zip-lock bag fill with items need to make their monsters at home.
